Whether you’re a beginner, or have some experience on the lathe, our tutors are ready to guide you through the process step by step.
During the day, you’ll learn about tool selection, safe turning techniques, and the fundamentals of shaping and end-grain hollowing.
You’ll gain confidence using gouges and scrapers to refine your design, ensuring a snug-fitting lid and a smooth, well-finished surface. Along the way, our experienced instructor will provide tips on grain alignment, proportions, and decorative touches to make your box truly unique.
By the end of the course, you’ll take home your own handmade lidded box, along with the skills and knowledge to continue turning on your own. All materials and tools are provided – just bring your enthusiasm and be ready to create!
