Description
Embodying the majesty of precious metals, “Theia” is named after the Greek Goddess of light, associated with all things that shimmer, especially gold and silver. “Theia” presents an infinite surround of emerging peaks in glistening chrome; each concavely scalloped curve linked to the next in the fluidity of the design as light reflects from the carvings edges to create the illusion of panel-beaten ore.
This exquisite wooden bowl is turned from Sycamore, hand painted and carved freehand for a natural, yet choreographed masterpiece truly enchanting us with the spellbinding mysticism presented by precious metals.
Whilst the outside has been finished in matt black to represent the raw element, the chrome peaks offer a glimpse of the beauty emerging from within.
The inside of the bowl has been skilfully hollowed to 3mm. Sanded flawlessly for a smooth finish it has then been painted in metallic gold for a chromatic reflection, a striking contrast to the peaked exterior. The bowl, made from wood, reveals a striking comparison with the element it emulates – hard, yet malleable; strong, yet thin; matt, yet polished – a true juxtaposition
Measurements: 20cm dia x 7cm high, 3mm thick
