Eucalyptus salmon gum burr bowl

Description

A handmade wooden bowl made from a rare burr from a salmon gum tree ( part of the eucalyptus tree family).

The wood has been mounted on the lathe and turned to shapes then sand smooth and finished with several coats of a food safe oil.

The eucalyptus salmon gum tree is native to Western Australia. The wood is often used to make fine quality, high value furniture.

Burrs of this size are rarely available so to have a bowl made from one is very unique.
