Gavel and sounding block

A handmade wooden gavel and sounding block on a display mount.

The gavel and sounding block have been made from a specially selected piece of sapele.

The gavel shaft was turned first, then the head was turned and then the two were joined together using a hidden wedge inside the head. The sounding block was then turned after sanding and finishing a display mount was made from a contrasting soft wood.

Would make an ideal gift for a toastmaster or auctioneer.
