Mahogany kintsugi plate

Description

A handmade wooden plate made from mahogany.

The piece of mahogany had a crack which during the turning process caused a section of the wood to break off.

This broken section has then been enhanced using the ancient Japanese art of kintsugi (golden joinery), a technique that uses gold to highlight and enhance the broken part rather than disguise it.
