A truly unique and beautiful piece, lovingly hand crafted from a highly figured piece of Laburnum.
It is very rare to find a piece of wood as characterful as this Laburnum, displaying not only a luscious grain pattern with the added awe of both heart and sap wood, but one also holding the hidden secrets of inclusions and a burl.
The overall body of the box has been deliberately shaped to reveal not just the highly sought after features, but to also incorporate a section of the natural edge. The top face of the box has been gently curved inward from edge to centre, to provide an aesthetically pleasing shape overall. The centre of the box has been crafted with a hollow, creating a compartment revealed beneath the lid.
The lid, hand turned from a piece of Lime specially selected for its pale appearance and minimal grain pattern, contrasts with the caramel and chocolate hues of the Laburnum. It has been delicately shaped to complement the overall design whist also providing the platform from which the elegant statement finial projects.
