Description
This beautiful traditional Scottish quaich has been handmade from a specially selected piece of ash. The piece has been partly turned and then the two handles have been hand carved from the main body. The completed quaich has then been sanded and and finished with a food safe finish making it ready for use.
A quaich is a traditional Scottish cup with two lugs (handles), known as a symbol of friendship. Frequently given as rewards, prizes and celebration gifts.
Traditionally they were made of wood and were used to offer a welcome or farewell drink of whisky, brandy or ale when receiving guests in the home. Nowadays, they are often used at weddings, awarded as prizes, or given as gifts.
